Verily I say unto thee, by divine glory I'm selling my Gaming laptop
Specs:
ASUS G Series G50VT-X2 (bought for $1,417 late 2008)
Windows 7 Professional 32bit (I upgraded it, but it can go back to Vista Home Premium 64bit)
CPU Type Intel Core 2 Duo P8600 2.4Ghz
Screen 15.4" WSXGA+... (more like a 15.6" imo)
Memory Size 4GB DDR2
Hard Disk 320GB 7200 RPM
Optical Drive DVD Super Multi (plays and burns DVD's)
Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce 9800M GS
Video Memory 512MB DDR3
Resolution 1680 x 1050
Battery 6-cell lithium ion
4 usb ports, HDMI, SD card, VGA, S-video (meaning tv support for svid and hdmi)
Pics from Newegg (http://preview.tinyurl.com/y44o33o): http://preview.tinyurl.com/y44o33o (for those with simple text)
I've done quite a lot of research on the video card sector and here are the results:
Video Cards 3dmark06 3dmark05 Vantage
NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250M 7982 14733 3848
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260M 10074 14742 4806
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5850 10018 15829 5885
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870 12755 18476 7862
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 280M 12569 18414 6328
NVIDIA GeForce GTS 360M 10484 16628 5650
NVIDIA GeForce 9800M GS 8507 13587 3245
There are a few "new" cards on the market with the 2##m and 3##m series that are on par with this just not quite as good. I could include the dozens that are below this card, but these are the only cards on the market that arent SLI that can beat the card thats currently in it.
Games I play:
L4d: 80-150 fps on mid-high settings
L4d2: 60-140 fps on mid-high settings
TF2: 70-200 fps on mid-high settings
Vsync off on all games, no configs to make it look bad. Games sparkle. I'm looking to sell it for $700 or best offer (if reasonable). You wont find this quality in a store...trust me I've looked.
Feel free to email me if you want pics of the laptop itself. If you arent interested but know someone else that is looking for a desktop replacement (this is more powerful than a good many desktops out) or a gaming computer then COME ON DOOOOOOWN!
