AS/Valve E3 Portal 2 event cancellation - Surprise instead?

As i have previous stated I am of the opinion that it has to do with the hiring of Icefrog maker of DOTA. In recent blog posts he has said that news on what he is doing for valve will be coming soon. I could be all wrong but it seems like this could be a major annoucment worthy of a e3 conference. I guess we shall see. And the portal conference was never gonna happen I think that was a smokescreen. Other possible things? New graphics engine? aka Source 2?

If the announcement was from valve and not aperture (a fake company within portal), then I'd believe it was cancelled. Its also possible the game is going to have a name change, which could be an explanation about this.

Plus while reading that, did you not hear it as if it was read by GladOS? The surprise will probably be some gag teaser saying "This isn't portal, its better than portal" or something. Or, it is an Orange Box 2 surprise, where they are planning to release portal 2, hl epi3, L4D3, and some other new game along with it.

Or I could be completly wrong...... nah.
