A.) was only available for a short time
B.) the "boycott" made a bunch of people not preorder
C.) you cant get it as a random drop.
D.) it can be worn on all classes.

On a side note I'm going to start actively trying to trade away my Unusual Spy Frenchman's Beret with heart effect if anyone is interested. I'm really really wanting an unusual for either scout or medic. The hat doesnt specifically matter. For Medic I'd prefer the Prussian, for Scout Im cool with any except the whoopee cap.

Just don't be too quick to sell that beret. It's a popular hat for a popular class and it has a good effect too. I don't really know much about trading unusuals but you should be able to get pretty much exactly what you want for that one.

Max head isnt an unusual....You can get an unusual for 5 normal hats. 6 earbuds is ridiculous hahaha. If earbuds are worth 2-3 hats that'd mean your max head is worth 12-18 hats which would get you a good number of unusuals.

Max head isnt an unusual....You can get an unusual for 5 normal hats. 6 earbuds is ridiculous hahaha. If earbuds are worth 2-3 hats that'd mean your max head is worth 12-18 hats which would get you a good number of unusuals.

Heiny, the market changes all the time, you can't get an unusual for 5 hats not even if they are vintage. Some people won't even part with flies for that few.

I got my spy beret with heart for 4 hats, 1 refined, 1 black paint, then traded off 1:1 for capotain carouser with heart, then traded that off for green toque with ghosts for 3 hats (1 v), then 1:1 for team spirit medic hat with ghosts, then my current team spirit painted bomb run with green plasma.
I need to find another deal like that and work my way up to another good unusual top tier for medic

Standard offer for any top tier unusual is a max head + sweets. Max head is pretty much used as a currency because it's rare. I personally find the hat to be fugly.

The only reason I traded for it was to split it into earbuds and then trade those earbuds for steam games. I was hoping to get 6 earbuds because then I would be able to get two $60 dollar games.

Sounds like you made some good trades yourself for your unusuals. I don't know what "tiers" those hats were but it sounds like you came on the better end of it all.

I personally barely play tf2 anymore. I just idle most of the time and use the items for free steam games.

I'm not terribly versed in this, but I'd say that you could probably sell all those hats for $50+ if you're patient. You have a lot of vintages but they're not high tier, and nv hats aren't worth much in comparison. You'd probably have better luck if you can trade them all for an unusual hat and sell that instead.

I haven't sold any tf2 items for real money. I trade tf2 items for steam games. So far up to around $120 saved.

I have however, sold Runescape items recently for around 4.5k usd. Yes, 4,500 dollars for virtual items in a ten year old java game. People need to stroke that e-peen what can I say?

In general any game which allows customization of some kind (e-peen stroking) or mmos you can make a profit selling "rare items" on black markets.

Also, if you buy any game that contains promos you're pretty much getting the game at a discount since the items will either be close to the value of the game itself or well over it. IE Max head, Shogun items, homefront (apparently)

Max head's price fell pretty low. It's worth around 3x earbuds at the moment. I'm not sure of the price of your unusual in terms of earbuds.
