damn sexy source engine MMORPG by Nexon.
went open beta today (10-15-2010 [its half an hour to the 16th at the time i post this =P])
AAAAANNNNNDDD im already having a fairly major issue IMO.
the game will not let you run it via steam, so as to enable the steam overlay.
so i sent them a nice little help ticket attempting to explain to them how its rather counter-intuitive to use a game engine designed by a company, and then deny users the freedom to use another program designed by the same company at the same time, that in no way gives the user an unfair advantage.
wat i rited:
OK, so I added vindictus to my steam games list, so I could use the "shift-tab" steam thing to chat with friends on steam while playing it.
Not 5 minutes into playing the game the next time, I get a message stating -
"Unauthorized program detected. You will be removed from the game."
The only program running that I think could possibly be causing this is that I am running the game through steam,
in order to have the in-game overlay. I am not in any way trying to hack the game or something...
I would find it rather ironic if indeed you do block users from running the game via steam,
as the Source engine that you used to create the game is the property of Valve...
Anyways, if this is the issue, I urge your company to please consider removing this constraint from the game.
I can see no way in which having the Steam overlay activated while running the game.
