Something to be excited about. Planetside2

So I know there is plenty of you who have no idea what the first one was. Or any idea what this is.

But, I have to be honest, Planetside was one of the greater games to have come out. However, a bit ahead of its time. Netcode and slightly poor management by SoE slowly saw a decline in the game. However, considering it was released in 2004 the game still has players today, and that is quite impressive.

PS2 does however look quiet beautiful, and with the large leaps in gaming since 2004 I'm expecting to be playing PS2 for some time as I did the first one. Hundreds on hundreds of players fighting off in an FPS over terrain and territory. I'm not talking instanced levels either, I'm talking whole continents with bases, forts towers and bridges. It was a hell of a lot of fun considering you could field a whole outfit(clan) and really run some organized offensives with armor, air, and infantry.

Any rate its something to look forward to, and hopefully revitalize EX a bit.
pretty good chances are I will be in the upcoming beta so I will get you guys some heads up when that happens.

This seems to apply to every SoE game, and why I have a hard time getting excited about their stuff. Hopefully Planetside 2 doesn't suffer as nasty a fate, as I know there are others who also loved the original, and have made it sound like an awfully fun game.

yea, totally agree with everything Hedge said about Planetside. What a great game that just came out at the wrong time technologically speaking.

Anyway, if there was an MMO I would ever play again, Planetside would be it. Especially since its MMOFPS. Will have to wait for the reviews to come out to see if I'll play it.

Received a Planetside 2 beta key in the latest PC Gamer magazine the other day. Pretty pumped about that.
