I played the shit out that game in high school then got away from it. I will play through Diablo 3 but it will never be as great of a game as 2, not the same developers.

i think it's going to be fcking amazing BUT I'm not sure if I can play it as much as I did 2 because now my life is all soaked up at work and I hardly have too much time for video games like I used to...but I still am hoping this game will be more like D2 than WoW because you KNOW blizzard has a winning formula in WoW and they will do whatever they can to try and please the Diablo fans and still try to attrack over some WoW fans to buy diablo3 also

EWWWW I played it and it was 100% fps 0% diablo. The stats meant nothing to the game. Upgrades through experience doesnt make an rpg in my books.

They have been taking longer and longer to start new ladders but I never thought they would actually shut it down. I would think that just like starcraft they would keep it going. One could probably argue that starcraft 1 is working like an advertisement for starcraft 2, but I would think that d2 would aswell.

I can't really see any information on the servers not being up. Where is your source? Is it possible that it is just down while they revamp bnet and stuff? All I find when I search for recent DII news is that they are going to release patch 1.13 sometime soon in the future.(it was announced in march I think).

I did some investigating and people are bitching because since blizzard announce an patch to be released as early as april 2009 the current ladder season pretty much died. All prices dropped and no one is playing because everyone expects the ladder to reset any day now.

However, this "anyday now" has turned into 4-5 months. So DII has pretty much been dead for 4 months. Well the ladder has.

I'm not sure what they are going to change but it looks like some things will include a bigger stash(which they are having trouble implementing). Probably remove the whole TPPK thing somehow. Probably try to cut down on hacks and botting because I guess recently it has become much more accessible for 13 year olds to get hacks and bots. Maybe reduce duping.

Those are the biggest things I believe.

There maybe additional things like balance changes or more runewords but who knows.

I forgot to mention that they said the new patch will go with a ladder reset.

Definitely excited for Borderlands, though when it came out I was REALLY hoping for more of a persistent-world-MMO experience. That said, I'm also curious about Dragon Age, it's by Bioware and supposedly very akin to Baldur's Gate....

Still, L4D2 > all other excitement this year.
